All 7 Kakariko Village Cucco locations in Zelda: Ocarina of Time

One of the earliest side quests you can take on in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is in Kakariko Village. And while it’s entirely optional, the reward is actually pretty good – at the back end of town, you can speak to the Cucco Lady, who has lost all seven of her Cuccos. Bring them back to her, and you’ll get something good.

A few of them are in plain sight, but others are actually well-hidden. Here’s where to find all seven Cuccos in Kakariko Village and how to collect them.

Cucco #1: Near the village entrance

The first Cucco is located right near the tree at the entrance to Kakariko Village.

Cucco #2: On top of the brick structure

The second Cucco is on top of a brick structure in the center of town. You’ll need to bring another Cucco to float over to the lower ledge. Toss it off, and then grab the Cucco on the higher ledge. If you’re having trouble getting to the brick structure, remember to press X to jump before you leave the cliff.

Cucco #3: Near the construction area

The third Cucco is near the construction area at the center of town.

Cucco #4: Beyond the tall fence

Grab a Cucco and head up to the windmill hut at the east end of town. Jump off the ledge and over the fence, and toss the Cucco over the gap. There’s another Cucco here beyond the fence, so climb up the nearby stairs and toss it over the fence. But don’t leave this area just yet!

Cucco #5: Near the windmill

Climb up the ladder in this area to reach a plateau near the windmill. You can then use the Cucco here to float back down to the main area of the village.

Cucco #6: Inside a crate

Near the west end of the village (and the entrance) is a crate. Destroy it to find another Cucco inside.

Cucco #7: Near the village guard

Head to the north end of town and you’ll find a Cucco near the guard. It’s often near the ramp, but you might be able to find it in the nearby gate house too.

Once you’ve got all the Cuccos in the pen, talk to the Cucco Lady to receive your reward – a bottle! Usually, this will be the second bottle you can get in Ocarina of Time, with the first one being available at the potion shop in Hyrule Castle Town. When you leave Kakariko Village and return, the Cuccos will scatter again. You can recollect them from the same areas for a bit of extra money.
